1. Post 9/11 GI Bill Benefits
** Military Veterans will receive the earliest Priority Date based on their official course registration and class availability.
New Applicants: If you have never received VA Educational Benefits, Click the button below and complete the application online (form #22-1990). Be sure to keep a copy of what you submit to the VA for yourself. The VA may take 4-10 weeks to process your application.
Prior Recipients: Complete the Change of Program or Place of Training (form #22-1995 or form #22-5499 if you are a Chapter 35 dependent) by clicking the button below and completing the form.
What next? The VA will notify you when they receive your application. Once they have processed your application they will send you a Certificate of Eligibility (COE) which contains the number of months you have eligible, the percent of your eligibility, and the date your eligibility expires. Submit a copy of this COE to the school. Once you arrive for training the school will electronically submit the beginning and ending dates for the classes you are registered for.
Once the VA matches the certification to your records they will issue payment. Payments are paid a month in arrears.
Eligible Dependents: This is for spouses and/or children of veterans who have died in the line of duty or have service connected disabilities. Go to gibill.va.gov and complete application form #2254-90.
Transfer of Eligibility: Post 9/11 veterans who meet certain criteria can transfer a portion of his/her education benefits to spouses and/or children. The veteran needs to complete a transfer application on his/her Department of Defense web page. Once approval has been awarded the dependent needs to complete the VA form #22-1990E found on the gibill.va.gov website.
