About The Program

ESI offers a PSD Protective Operations Course that parallels our world-renowned Executive Protection Program designed for corporate and personal protection. The PSD program can be taken as a full-time 21-Day Residency.

Prerequisites for this program are:

  • Former and current military with experience in a combat zone within the last 5 years.
  • Former and current law enforcement with experience in an active SWAT or Drug Task Force Team within the last 5 years.
  • Or a graduate from ESI’s Executive Protection Program with a level 1 shooting score within the last 5 years.

We review training and experience on an individual basis.

ESI’s PSD program (High Threat) exceeds the minimum standards required by the Department of State for the World Protective Services (WPS) program. This is the perfect “primer course” to set students up for success if they are selected to attend “vetting.” The student will have a solid foundation and understanding of PSD Operations and will be primed in advanced pistol, rifle, and small-unit tactics.

It is intended for individuals seeking to work in high-risk environments, including embassies, consulates, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and high-threat corporate details. The training equips participants to adapt to the evolving tactics of the global war on terror (GWOT) and to operate in non-permissive environments.

Students will receive daily evaluations from both instructors and peers during team-based training. The program emphasizes leadership, teamwork, and individual responsibility, ensuring each participant develops the skills to both lead and collaborate effectively.”

Instructors
ESI PSD instructors bring decades of high-threat operational experience, including service as WPS instructors for the Department of State and the Department of Defense.

This is not a WPS certification program, but rather a course to prepare you to go through and pass WPS.

Student Testimonials

The training has enhanced my job experiences. I've had company hire me on the spot because of the reputation of ESI. Highly recommend anyone interested in entering the Personal Protection field to consider ESI. I'm glad I did so many years ago and it was a great experience.

The reason why ESI is called "The Harvard of body guard schools" is because everything that is taught here is not only relevant to the constantly changing industry but also all the instructors are currently working in industry. They don't ever teach you things that you don't need. Everything that is taught is everything you'll need to prosper at a job. Have you ever heard a place advertise "We're a family here"? ESI says this a lot and they actually mean it. After I graduated I had instructors and classmates constantly asking me how things were going just to stay in touch and make it known that I was cared about. They don't just hand you a certificate, push you out the door and say "Good luck". They want you to succeed and will do anything possible to make sure you do. 8 months after I graduated the employment counselor was still staying on touch with me and finding me new and better jobs. That's incredible considering how many graduates have gone through the school. I seriously can't sa
