Save the date for the Next Alumni Retreat

Calling all ESI Alumni! We will host our next Alumni Retreat in May 2027!

Stories of ESI Students

I’m an ESI alumnus, class of 1991, back when the program was largely correspondence-based. I was fortunate to attend in-person classes in Denver, which provided a strong, hands-on foundation. I Even got to meet Bob Dugan and some of the other instructors which was a real bonus for those of us who got to take the class. We then spent I think over 28 or 30 days up in Aspen, which I could tell you some stories and I will. The instructors we had were phenomenal I remember one in particular Jack McGeorge, I believe he came out of the Secret Service on the inside he gave us unbelievable Training to material that most people never saw.

After returning to New York, I worked my way into the industry through a limousine company servicing high-profile clients. Early on, I began working with Glenn Close, (You know, “Fatal Attraction / “101 Dalmatians” etc. which developed into a nine-year professional relationship spanning both Broadway and film.

That experience led to a long-term career in celebrity protection and production environments, including membership in Theatrical Teamsters Local 817. In total, I spent over 20 years in the business.
